MOSCOW, May 3 - RIA Novosti. In June, the OPEC+ countries, which have voluntary restrictions, will increase their oil production limits by 411 thousand barrels per day, according to the organization's message.
“In line with the decision taken on December 5, 2024, to begin a gradual and flexible return to voluntary adjustments of 2.2 million bpd from April 1, 2025, the eight participating countries will increase production by 411,000 bpd in June 2025 from May 2025 production levels,” the statement said.
The “volunteers” originally planned to meet on May 5, but then moved the meeting to Saturday.
Eight of the 19 members of the OPEC+ agreement have voluntary oil production cuts in addition to quotas. These are Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. The limit of 1.65 million barrels per day is valid until the end of 2026. The restrictions on 2.2 million barrels per day, introduced a little later, were decided to be canceled not from January, as it was supposed, but from April this year.
Early last month, the eight members of the alliance announced a threefold acceleration of the departure from some restrictions in May and an increase in production for the month by 411,000 bpd. The countries also soon submitted to the OPEC secretariat an updated schedule of compensation for exceeding their target quotas. Taking them into account, according to RIA Novosti, in May, the actual allowable level of production increased by 253 thousand barrels per day. The states promised to later discuss oil production volumes for June.
